NAKSHA is a home grown brand working with artisans right from weavers to karigars, mainly promoting the craftsmanship of Bengal.
We create artistic six yards in hand woven silks and tussar fabrics only. These fabrics are hand woven in pit looms, colour dyed and then block printed, batik or hand embroidered.
With 28 years of corporate life adorning a saree every morning, I realised my heart belongs to a place where I am immersed in designs, colours, motifs and everything else revolving around sarees. This desire propelled watching my domestic helper make simple needle art in her cotton saree at her leisure. She adorns this flair and had picked up this art from her mother. I encouraged her to make additional revenues by commercialising this talent.
